Hawzah News Agency- the ceremony to commemorate the second demise anniversary of the passing away of Late Ayatollah Alavi Gorgani (RA) will be held on Thursday, February 22, coinciding with 12th of Sha'ban, 1445, after Maghrib and Isha prayers in the Grand Mosque of Qom.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Mohammad Ali Hosseini Alavi Gorgani was an Iranian Twelver Shi'a marja. He was born in a religious family in Najaf, Iraq. He rose to a leading scholar in Najaf, and moved to Qom after the fall of Pahlavi Iran in 1979.
